Public Servant
At
age 16, Lee was a dispatcher for the city of Derby, Kansas Police and
Fire Departments. At age 17, Lee enlisted in the military where he
served his country for six years in the United States Air Force and
Kansas Air National Guard. At age 21, Lee joined the Wichita Police
Department.
Lee Harp was a Wichita police officer for more than two decades. He's still serving the people of this great city.
You
almost can't mention his name in Wichita without getting a nod of
recognition or hearing something like “Oh, yes, I've heard of him.” Lee
Harp was a member of the city's police force for 21 years, rising to
the rank of Lieutenant, earning wreaths, ribbons and commendations for
meritorious service, and grappling with challenging situations every
day. His role as a public servant didn't end there, however. Lee sat on
the Goddard city council and also was elected mayor of the Wichita
suburb. He's so passionate about the Wichita area, where he was born
and raised, that whatever his calling, he's determined to give back to
the best of his abilities. And because he's lived in the Wichita area
all his life, Lee's a great resource for people relocating here.
"Nothing
gives me more statisfaction than making a difference in someone else's
life. I believe I did that every day on the police force. I aim to do
that every day in my real estate business."
- Lee Harp
